A story created for your child — not an age range.
Every PillowTales story is generated for your child’s exact age, interests, chosen theme and chosen moral. It is not a template with only the name changed.
For ages 1–12, vocabulary, pacing, humour, plots and emotional complexity adapt to the child’s age and developmental stage.
Choose suggested themes such as animals, football, space or magic, or use Custom to write your own.
Choose kindness, confidence, patience, sharing, honesty or another lesson that matters to your family.
Use Custom to explore starting school, moving house, friendship, a new sibling, worries or another everyday situation.
Read the story yourself, use a built-in narrator, or use Parent Voice when you cannot be there.
Younger children can rest and listen. Older children can read along, including bilingual reading and narration.
How personalised bedtime stories work
Choose your child’s age, a story theme and the kind of lesson or adventure you would like. PillowTales creates a new story around those choices and adapts the language, pacing and complexity to suit the child. Parents can read the story themselves, use built-in narration, or use Parent Voice when they cannot be there.
Stories that grow with your child
A bedtime story for a three-year-old should not be written in the same way as one for a ten-year-old. PillowTales adapts vocabulary, sentence structure, narrative depth and story complexity for children aged 1–12, using Oxford Reading Tree levels as a reading benchmark where appropriate.
The experience can therefore develop as the child grows rather than placing different ages into the same story template.
Personalised means more than adding a name
PillowTales can build stories around interests, themes, morals and everyday experiences. A child might explore space, play in a football final, discover a magical kingdom or hear a gentle story about starting school.
The aim is to make the child feel part of a story created for them while keeping bedtime focused on storytelling and imagination rather than screen entertainment.
